RESTYLANE® and JUVEDERM® TREATMENTS FOR CORRECTION OF FACIAL WRINKLES AND FOLDS -- Westchester County, New York

At Cosmetic Surgery Associates of Westchester in Harrison, New York, Dr. Greenwald administers various filler materials to treat unwanted skin wrinkles and folds. Nearly 1.2 million patients were treated with hyaluronic acid-based fillers in 2005. Restylane® and Juvederm® are some of our office’s most frequently performed cosmetic treatments. Dr. Greenwald performs Restylane® and Juvederm® treatments in both of his New York offices (Harrison in Westchester County and Carmel in Putnam County). Both Restylane® and Juvederm® are FDA-approved for the treatment of facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane® and Juvederm® are hyaluronic acid products that can be used to correct facial wrinkles and folds. Other hyaluronic acid products used to correct facial wrinkles and folds include Hylaform® and Captique®.

Prior to your facial filler treatment, Dr. Greenwald will inquire about your medical and surgical history including current medications and allergies. It is important to be thorough when discussing your medical history as safety is Dr. Greenwald’s top priority. Your full disclosure of all pertinent medical information prior to any treatment will reduce the incidence of unwanted complications. Dr. Greenwald will first ask you what your concerns and goals are. Your face and neck will then be carefully examined and Dr. Greenwald will determine what areas of your face and neck may benefit from treatment with a facial filler such as Restylane®, Juvederm®, or collagen. The proposed treatment areas (lips, cheeks, and/or nasolabial folds) will be numbed with a topical anesthetic prior to your treatment (a nerve block may be preferable for some patients.). Dr. Greenwald will then use very small needles to carefully inject the chosen filler material. After the treatment, the areas may be iced for a short period of time. Dr. Greenwald will carefully assess the treated areas for symmetry. Dr. Greenwald will have you ice the treated areas intermittently over the next several hours. Some bruising and swelling may occur and this will resolve over time. You may resume your normal activities when you leave Dr. Greenwald’s New York office (Harrison, New York). Treatment with facial fillers can alleviate wrinkles with little or no discomfort, and the entire procedure can often be performed over a lunch break.

If a patients has very deep wrinkles between the brows or elsewhere, a combination of BOTOX® Cosmetic and facial fillers (Restylane®, Juvederm®, or fat injections) may be needed to achieve the desired results. Dr. Greenwald will discuss this with you prior to beginning any treatments. If wrinkles are deep or severe and likely to require combined treatment with Botox and a facial filler, Dr. Greenwald typically performs the BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment first and then has you return to his Westchester County, New York office one week later for the filler treatment. Dr. Greenwald believes this sequence of treatments leads to optimal results when using BOTOX® Cosmetic and fillers such as Restylane®.

Dr. Greenwald routinely performs BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, Juvederm®, and fat injections in Harrison, New York on patients from Westchester County, New York, Manhattan, Fairfield County and Connecticut.
